After the airport chaos we picked up the van and hit the road. It was a 5 1/2 hour trip. Which doesn't sound like that big of a trip but when you live on an island 5 1/2 hours seems long. It was great though. We were exhausted but excited.
This picture was taken as we were driving past San Francisco. The clouds were wild! They were level with the horizon. The picture isn't very good because it was taken from my car window while on the highway but it was so neat I had to share.
As we were driving through California...
Then we headed up the Sierra Nevada. It was such a beautiful drive. There was a rest stop toward the top in the Tahoe National Forest. The kids(and doggies) had fun playing in this teepee.
Little Man was ready to camp out and didn't want to leave.
Here are some pictures as we were driving up the Sierra Nevada. We were so high up in the mountains. I was a bit nervous with all of the turns and downhill slopes. I was very thankful my husband was driving.
