Marshmallow Molecules

Silly Guy is learning about Chemistry this year using the Real Science 4 Kids curriculum. This week he and Little Man made marshmallow molecules.

Supplies:  Large marshmallows, small colored marshmallows, and toothpicks.
First he had to make shapes using any number of toothpicks and marshmallows.

After learning the "rules" and assigning each "atom"  a marshmallow he was to create molecules.

Very cool! Bet he had a great time with school that day. :-) How do you like that curriculum?

We like it a lot Kristi. Silly Guy is engrossed in the study. The author makes it very easy to understand. The experiments are great, easy and reinforce the concepts learned throughout the chapter. You can preview the entire curriculum on the website http://www.gravitaspublications.com/l1-full-text . The text only has 10 lessons so the study is not a full year study. We plan on covering at least the chemistry and physics along with nature study:)
